Why Should I Go To The Chiropractor?

My back doesn't hurt . . . Why should I go to the chiropractor?

I get this question from time to time. It's a good question, especially coming from a person living in a society that changes the oil in their car every 3,000 miles but only thinks about their health when they experience pain.

The truth about chiropractic is that treating pain is the thing that it does LEAST well.

Am I saying that a chiropractic adjustment is not likely to relieve you of your back pain?

NO. I am NOT.

What I am saying is that there are more important health issues that respond to chiropractic care than a pain in your back.

For instance . . . people who receive chiropractic care tend to sleep better.

Does that matter?

Well, considering that your body repairs itself when you sleep and the fact that good sleep is required for basic BRAIN function and NOT being a GRUMP . . . then yes. I would say that sleep is important.

What about neck mobility? Is that important?

Well . . . when you drive, you have to turn your head in order to see if anyone is in your blind spot any time you want to merge into traffic or switch lanes.

I always like it when I can check the old blind spot without turning my whole body.

After driving in Branson traffic for the past year and a half, I have come to the conclusion that many of the people around here can not turn their head adequately and don't want to turn their whole body so they just skip the, "check your blind spot 'THING" and just go ahead and change lanes anyway.

But I digress!

I think all drivers should be checked by a chiropractor for adequate neck rotation before being allowed to drive. :) It would be a benefit to public safety.

Whatever . . . What is my point?

My point is this. The real benefit of chiropractic is NOT that it relieves some back pain.

The REAL benefit of chiropractic is that it improves your body's FUNCTION.

It helps your body to function better. Whether that means being able to get a good night sleep, turn your head to check your blind spot or improve your immune system function . . .

Chiropractic helps your body to function better . . .when you function better . . . you LIVE better.

You know . . . play golf better. Run better. Love your family better. Serve your community better. Play with your kids better.

So . . . keep getting the oil in your car changed every 3000 miles

. . . AND

Don't wait for your back to hurt before coming to the chiropractor.

Your life is NOW and it is fleeting.

Live it on all 8 cylinders.
