Life On Earth Is BETTER Than It Seems
If you are NOT careful, you may be fooled into thinking the world is falling apart at the seams.
We just went through the most divisive Presidential election that I can remember and a week later we still don't know who will be our next President. It looks like we might be facing months of litigation before we get to an answer.
Our trust in the process is completely eroded. If Biden goes on to win, half the population will believe that his Presidency was decided due to major fraud. If Trump sits another four years as President, Biden's supporters will cry foul and who knows how much more rioting and violence we will have to tolerate.
We are a divided people: Black vs. White . . . Rich vs. Poor . . . Vaxxers vs. Anit-vaxxers . . . Maskers vs. Anti-Maskers . . . Christians vs. Muslim.
Next thing you know we will have blondes vs. brunettes. A divide along hair color . . .you know, cause why NOT?
It is so bad that one of my FB friend recently shared a post that went something like this:
The world needs to get rid of all liberals because liberals are sub-human scum. Every conservative should kill two liberals and then the world would be a better place. I paraphrase but you get to gist and I really don't want to read it again just for the sake of literal accuracy.
Maybe someone needs to get back on their meds . . . but there you have it. It was on social media for all of us to consume.
You have to ask yourself the question: Are humans capable of coming together to produce something of value?
Something that stirs your soul to move.
I present to you Beethovens' 9th Symphony (An Ode To Joy) performed by 10,000 German and Japanese musicians.
Do yourself a favor and trade in 17 minutes of social media and listen to this. I recommend doing it with your eyes mostly closed . . . You WILL have to look at the video from time to time to believe what you are hearing.
You won't understand a word . . . but I promise it will move you.
I Love Ya,
Here are the words in English for you:
O friends, no more of these sounds!
Let us sing more cheerful songs,
More songs full of joy!
Joy, bright spark of divinity,
Daughter of Elysium,
Fire-inspired we tread
Within thy sanctuary.
Thy magic power re-unites
All that custom has divided,
All men become brothers,
Under the sway of thy gentle wings.
Whoever has created
An abiding friendship,
Or has won
A true and loving wife,
All who can call at least one soul theirs,
Join our song of praise;
But those who cannot must creep tearfully
Away from our circle.
All creatures drink of joy
At natures breast.
Just and unjust
Alike taste of her gift;
She gave us kisses and the fruit of the vine,
A tried friend to the end.
Even the worm can feel contentment,
And the cherub stands before God!
Gladly, like the heavenly bodies
Which He sent on their courses
Through the splendor of the firmament;
Thus, brothers, you should run your race,
Like a hero going to victory!
You millions, I embrace you.
This kiss is for all the world!
Brothers, above the starry canopy
There must dwell a loving father.
Do you fall in worship, you millions?
World, do you know your creator?
Seek Him in the heavens;
Above the stars must he dwell.
